Chern - Simons Field Theory and Completely Integrable Systems

چکیده
We show that the classical non-abelian pure Chern-Simons action is related in a natural way to completely integrable systems of the Davey-Stewartson hyerarchy, via reductions of the gauge connection in Hermitian spaces and by performing certain gauge choices. The Bäcklund Transformations are interpreted in terms of Chern-Simons equations of motion or, on the other hand, as a consistency condition on the gauge. A mapping with a nonlinear σ-model is discussed.

Deformation of surfaces , integrable systems and Chern - Simons theory
A few years ago, some of us devised a method to obtain inte-grable systems in (2+1)-dimensions from the classical non-Abelian pure Chern-Simons action via reduction of the gauge connection in Hermitian symmetric spaces. In this paper we show that the methods developed in studying classical non-Abelian pure Chern-Simons actions, can be naturally implemented by means of a geometrical interpretati...
متن کاملAnalytic Aspects of the Toda System: Ii. Bubbling Behavior and Existence of Solutions
system (1.1) is completely integrable, which is well-known in integrable systems theory. The Liouville equation and the Toda system arise in many physical models. In Chern-Simons theories, the Liouville equation is closely related to Abelian models, while the Toda system is related to non-Abelian models. See for instance the books [10] and [24] and the references therein. Though the Liouville e...
متن کاملHolomorphic Chern-Simons-Witten Theory: from 2D to 4D Conformal Field Theories
It is well known that rational 2D conformal field theories are connected with Chern-Simons theories defined on 3D real manifolds. We consider holomorphic analogues of Chern-Simons theories defined on 3D complex manifolds (six real dimensions) and describe 4D conformal field theories connected with them. All these models are integrable. We describe analogues of the Virasoro and affine Lie algebr...
متن کاملThe Field Theory of Generalized Ferromagnet on the Hermitian Symmetric Spaces 1
We discuss the recent developments in the generalized continuous Heisenberg ferromagnet model formulated as a nonrelativistic field theory defined on the target space of the coadjoint orbits. Hermitian symmetric spaces are special because they provide completely integrable field theories in 1+1 dimension and self-dual Chern-Simons solitons and vortices in 2+1 dimension. Recently, an action prin...
متن کاملThe Integrability Criterion in SU(2) Chern-Simons Gauge Theory
We prove that the multiplicity spaces appearing in Chern-Simons theory, as defined by Segal, vanish unless they are associated to integrable representations. This and other links with conformal field theory are examined.
